Maria Johansen
- clinical counsellor at a hospital

The job as a nurse offers many possibilities. I had been an education nurse at different wards for some years and I looked for new challenges in the job as a clinical counsellor. I like to keep up to date with the nursing profession and how the nursing education constantly develops. The job as a clinical counsellor at a hospital meets those challenges.

My job is to guide nurses, who educate the students about clinical nursing at ten hospital wards. I help them solve problems that naturally crop up through the clinical practice period. I also work with many different pedagogical tasks, further education of new education nurses as well as recruiting of new students.

It is a very independent and varied job where I work together with many different people. It gives me the opportunity to influence how things can be done differently and better and it demands a great interest in and knowledge of nursing education. Sometimes I miss the personal and daily contact with patients but I can always choose to work at a ward.
